Professional Learning

MMEA: There are many Professional Associations and Organizations that hold conferences and events throughout the year. These organizations offer learning opportunities and instructional strategies to help and assist anyone during their journey as an educator. The Maryland Music Educators Association holds conferences where members gather to participate in the various sessions offered by the most notable clinicians. Having attended my first MMEA conference, I have gained many helpful ideas to assist with instructional strategies within my future choral classroom.

MUED Philosophy:  To be prepared to teach, one must have a clear set of goals and ideas that he or she wishes to accomplish through his or her field of study. These ideas and goals are crafted around why and how one wishes to teach. A Music Education Philosophy shows an in depth reflection behind the reason(s) one chooses to teach music and what educational goals one wishes to accomplish through music.

Reflection of Lessons Taught: Personal reflection is a great way to gain ideas that one can use in the future as an educator. As a teacher addresses and reflects within his or herself the areas in which to grow, great strides to improvement can be reached.
